The 2009 Doomben 10,000 is set to be one of the years great 1350m Races. The Doomben 10000 is a WFA Group One
race, with a total purse of $650,000.
This years Doomben 10,000 as always, comes off the back of the
2009 BTC Cup, Doomben’s other great sprint race (raced over 1200m). That race was won by up and coming youngster Duporth, who beat off the gay Waterhouse raced Bank Robber and of course the mercurial Apache Cat who won this race last year.

Now its no secret that Apache Cat has not yet hit his straps this preparation, and I don’t think we’ll see him dominate this years Doomben 10,000 2009. Having said that as an legend of the track, he commands high expectations. Especially in Brisbane. Apache Cat has gone out as a $3 early favourite for the 2009 Doomben 10,000 -- and i certainly hope he can win it -- but he wont be getting my hard earned, not at that price.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens this week (on Doomben Cup day), and next week with the final nominations and barrier draw.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
