The Group one Qld Derby has rolled around again, and with the wet weather hanging around in Brisbane it is shaping as a 
very open race. The 2009 Queensland Derby will be raced over 2400m at Eagle farm; with a total prize purse of $500,000. Perhaps Queenslands greatest 3 yr old race, the Qld Derby has produced some fantastic stayers over the years like Tulloch, Rough Habit and Kingston Town.

Rockdale is my top pick for the Derby. I’m hoping he’ll lead and kick away from them on the turn. He loves the wet, and he’s already a Gp1 winner -- At $13 he’ll give you a decent sight if you’re on him!
