One of the best group one races of the year for 3 year old fillies, the 2009 Thousand Guineas is a 1600m race at set weights. The Thousand Guineas in an integral part of the Caulfield Spring Racing Carnival, especially for those 3yr old fillies chasing group One glory, and a slice of the $500k in prizemoney.
Over the years the Thousand Guineas has produced many great winners; in recent times horses like Miss Finland, Alinghi, Serious Speed and most recently Gallica.
