Rosehill is one of Sydney’s top two racecourses, which along with Royal Randwick, hosts all of the Group One race events in NSW. The most well known of which is the Golden Slipper, the worlds richest 2yo race, where the winner takes home $2 million in prizemoney. During the Spring Carnival and the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, Rosehill hosts a further seven Group 1 races, and a another 24 group 2 & 3 level events.
After the AJC (Austrlian Jockey Club) merged with the ATC (Australian Turf Club) back in 2011, and the then consequent vast renovations at Randwick, Rosehill has taken up the slack as nsw’s go to metropolitan racecourse, especially for punters. Considered by many a fair racing venue, Rosehill is an open track where winners can seemingly come from anywhere, and in all races up to 1500m there’s a decent run to the first sweeping turn.
The Rosehill Racecouse is located just only 23km from the Sydney CBD, and 27km from the Sydney Airport at James Ruse Dr, Rosehill NSW.
