Warwick Farm Races

One of four metropolitan racetracks in Sydney, Warwick Farm like Canterbury, is mostly used as a midweek racing venue. Warwick Farm hosts one Group 1 race meeting during the year, the Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m WFA), in March during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. With the massive renovations currently taking place at Randick Racecourse, this year Warwick Farm is hosting an increased number of listed and group races.

The Warwick Farm races has starts ranging from 1000m, 1100m, 1200m, 1400m, 1600m and 2200m. For races at Warwick Farm beyond 1600m, it pays to be on pace as the track turns has 2 sharp turns. And for races from 1000m to 1400m wide barriers aren’t as much of a concern, as there is a long run into one corner, the home turn.
