The Caulfield Racecourse is one of the great Victorian race tracks. As you can see from the map it’s a tight-turning triangular track for those distances over 1200m, where race tactics are of the utmost importance. The biggest race of the year at Caulfield is the Caulfield Cup, which is a gruelling staying test run over a 2400m, and one of the highlights of the Spring Racing Carnival.
The Caulfield Races are located only 12km from the Melbourne CBD, a convenient 20 minute train ride from Flinders Street Station, at Gate 22 Station St, Caulfield East Victoria.
