Located only 8km East form the city centre of Perth, the Ascot Races is Western Australia’s premier racing venue, and the home of thoroughbred racing in WA. Each year towards the end of the Spring carnival, the Perth racing heats up as Ascot hosts 4 group one races, capping off featuring racing for the year across the country.

Racing at Ascot doesn’t really get the acknowledgement of it’s Eastern cousins; but the standard of racing is high, especially on weekend metropolitan meetings. An Ascot saturday race is now worth $32k to the winner, and midweek field numbers are high, which is having a positive effect on the industry.
