Kingston Town will forever be considered one of Australia’s greatest ever racehorses; his career saw him win multiple Group One races, and on the way collected awards like the Australian Racehorse of the Year (1980), and an induction into the Australian Racing Hall Of Fame. Winning the Cox Plate three consecutive years in the early 1980′s (1980, 1981, 1982) was perhaps his greatest achievement; something that we will not see again for a long time.

  2. Thank you so much.I am 58 years old and Kingston town was and always will be my hero of the turf. What a champion racehorse he was .I have always wished i could get access to his great wins, and now I finally can.It is quite interesting though that the modern phenomena of calling every horse that wins a few races a”champion”.Compared to true champion racehorses like kingston town these horses pale into insignificanse.A true champion gives weight to his rivals, and wins! They also win over varying distances, and conditions. Not wishing to downgrade a great horse like Black caviar,I cannot fathom how people can even dare to compare her to”Pharlap”.A purely sprinting sensation at the moment, who has given weight to no-one,and has not won over more than 1200 meters. I wait to see if and when this great sprinter can achieve, anywhere near the records of australias true”CHAMPIONS”.
