The BMW Stakes is a group 1 2400m WFA race, that takes place at Rosehill during Sydney’s Autumn Carnival. The BMW Stakes is a race steeped in tradition, worth over $1 million to the winner, and is the major target for many stayers during the Autumn Carnival. In more recent years the BMW Stakes has taken somewhat of a ‘back seat’ to the glitzy 2 year old race the Golden Slipper, which is raced on the same day at Rosehill.
