The George Ryder Stakes is a fantastic WFA race over 1400m, held at Rosehill during the Autumn Carnival. The George Ryder is one of 5 group one races held on the day, with the Golden Slipper the highlight of the day. Being over 1500m, the George Ryder is always one of those interesting races that brings together a lot of different formlines – with horses that may be stepping up in distance from the sprint events, to genuine milers who have that added sprint ability. As always the 2012 George Ryder will be a key leadup race for many heading to the Doncaster Mile at Randwick a fortnight later. All in all a great race!
