I worked at the Cambridge Stud near Hamilton in New Zealand last year. During this time, I made the feeds up for the horses, led the fillies, herded fillies into their paddocks, helped more than a dozen mares foal, did the foal injections, helped build a “crush” , prepared the colts for parading and groomed the colts (sometimes the fillies as well). I am not afraid to do the not so nice work. I have mucked out stables, painted fences, weeded the fields and did some gardening.
I am now looking to broaden my experience by finding another position in a horse stud.

I am a hardworking, reliable 30yo lass who is looking for 2 – 3 days work per week strapping or just performing stable duties at Caulfield race track. Several years ago I completed certificate 1,2 3, and 4 in racing (stablehand) and worked for many years on a TB stud performing all duties such as foaling down, stallion handling, weaning, and yearling preparation including attending sales across Australia. As well as the messy stuff, boxes, feeding etc.

Although I have not worked in a racing stable (apart from a few days during study) I am friendly, hardworking and reliable. I live locally, and have my own transport. I am competent handling horses, I have always had my own.

When I finished the above mentioned traineeship, my employer at the time was unable to pay me accordingly and instead opted to cut my hours in half – I could not afford this and have since been working for a geotechnical engineering company in Glen Iris.

I do however, miss the horses and am always on the lookout for a suitable entry back into this field.

I would be an asset to any stable willing to give me a go, and would like to begin with 2 – 3 days per week with a view to permenant work down the track.

I am able to handle young horses or stallions.

In Germany I participated in many show jumping competitions. My level with jumping was 1.20 metres and in dressage it was the second level in Germany (A Neveau).

So I hope you got a small idea of what I did with horses now and that I love working with animals.
