San Domenico Stakes Rosehill – Black Minx, Anatomica, Duporth

Well the Spring Carnival is now well underway, and to celebrate I’m posting my very first ever blog post!

The San Domenico Stakes over 1100 metres at Rosehill Sydney tomorrow (August 9 2008), and I really like the topweight Black Minx. With Jim Byrne aboard from the 5 alley, she should have too much toe for this lot. Obviously I’m bias towards the Queensland horses, but I really think she has a red hot chance to take out the San Domenico, after winning her last two.

Currently Black Minx is paying $4 fixed odds (unitab), which I think is great value! The 2 biggest dangers to her winning the San Domenico Stakes are the favourite Anatomica ($2.50) and Duporth who is currently at $4.60 – but I really feel she has their measure, she is a great young sprinter.

Minx came back to work 2nd Oct and will be set for the MM 3YO Trophy, regards the San Domenico run, never before have I seen reports on how she acted prior to the race nor her condition for the following 2 weeks after. Betting on the day and history supports she is a better horse than that run. what happend that day, we will never know?

@ Kenny – Thanks for visiting my blog mate; sorry for the late reply…

Geez she got dusted pretty easy didn’t she? No doubt Black Minx will get better as the Spring (and her preparation) goes along.

    You from Qld mate?

Well I hope you are right, everyone has made Anatomica a special on TVN and sky, I took the 4-1 yesterday and still think she will win. Only time will tell.
