Reigning 2009 Caulfield Cup favourite Vigor has drawn the inside gate for Saturday’s Group One 2009 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington.

The Danny O’Brien-trained gelding will be ridden by Damien Oliver while Vlad Duric will partner stablemate Master O’Reilly from gate 15.

Bart Cummings had mixed fortunes with his three runners.

While AJC Australian Derby winner Roman Emperor drew well in five, 2008 Melbourne Cup hero Viewed drew barrier 13 while Joe Blow has the outside barrier in the field of 16.

The past two Cox Plate winners, El Segundo and Maldivian, drew alongside one another in barriers nine and ten respectively.

The Turnbull has attracted a crack field including three of the top five horses in 2009 Caulfield Cup betting headed by Vigor, the $6 Cup favourite with TAB Sportsbet, Predatory Pricer ($9) and Red Ruler ($13).
