Under The Louvre scratched from Rupert Clarke Stakes

It’s disappointing but no surprise, that the Robert Smeardon stable today announced that Under The Louvre will be scratched from Saturday’s Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfueld.

Raced over 1400m under handicap conditions, he was always going to find it tough going carrying the top weight, after being penalised for winning the G1 Stradbroke Handicap during the Winter Carnival in Brisbane).

After drawing out wide on Wednesday (barrier 14), the Smeardon camp decided to save him the tough run, and instead head to Sydney to contest the G2 Premier Stakes at Randwick next Saturday under WFA conditions.

The Snowden camp also advised of the Scratching of Tycoon Tara.
