In recent years Eagle Farm has gone under an extensive track renovation, which resulted in some quite unsatisfactory racing, bringing the state of the track under intense scrutiny. The fiasco peaked during the 2018 Brisbane Winter Carnival, when it was decided the remaing G1 races would be moved to Doomben.
Eagle Farm is located directly across Nudgee Rd from Doomben, which it is partnered with under the BRC, with the two tracks hosting all of Queensland’s Group 1 races, and the majority of the metropolitan meetings.
The Eagle Farm Racecouse is located just only 8km from the Brisbane CBD, and 5km from the Brisbane Airport at 230 Lancaster Rd, Ascot Queensland.
